What makes TemporaryTattoos the best?
All of the tattoos we manufacture are made in the United States with ingredients that have been approved by the FDA. While the FDA does not specifically certify temporary tattoos, it does certify the safety of the ingredients used to make them. All of our ingredients exceed these safety standards, which is vital to our customers and a requirement to export to many of the countries to which we ship our products. We also make sure that each temporary tattoo clearly states the ingredients on the back. Here at TemporaryTattoos., we make only decal (press-on) temporary tattoos because we believe that this is the best temporary tattoo option for children and adults, safely delivering a high-quality, realistic effect.
How long do temporary tattoos last on skin? Our temporary tattoos last about 3 days, depending on the size and placement of the tattoo. Temporary tattoos last much longer when applied in an area that isn’t rubbed often. For the best application of your tattoo, be sure your skin is dry, and free of oil, lotion and makeup, since temporary tattoos apply best to clean, dry skin. Try to choose a smooth, hair-free area of skin that doesn’t crease or stretch when you move. Once applied, temporary tattoos are waterproof, so they won’t come off in the shower, pool, or in that water gun fight with your family! Temporary tattoos can be easily removed with a bit of rubbing alcohol, hand sanitizer, baby oil or even with a few strips of transparent household tape. Are temporary tattoos safe for application on my skin?Of course! These temporary tattoos are so safe, that we have applied them to babies. All of the temporary tattoos we manufacture are safe and non-toxic. We use FDA certified colorants and all products exceed US, Canadian and European Union safety standards for cosmetic and toy products. Certification documentation is available upon request. How are temporary tattoos applied? Temporary tattoos are fast and easy to apply; all you need is water. What you’ll need
- Cloth, a towel, or a sponge
- A little bit of water
- Scissors (depending on design)
Let’s Get Started
Optional Use scissors to cut out your tattoo. If the design is NOT part of a sheet with multiple tattoos, this won’t be necessary.
Step 1 Decide where you want to apply the tattoo. These aren’t permanent but we pride ourselves on the lifespan of our tattoos, so make sure you have it where you want it for up to 7 days. When you have a perfect position, peel the plastic cover off of your temporary tattoo.
Step 2 Place the paper on your body with the tattoo side on your skin. Apply pressure evenly. (Don’t worry if you don’t get it spot-on the first time. Even if the tattoo isn’t sticky anymore, the image will still transfer.)
Step 3 Get your cloth, towel or sponge wet and dab it on top of the tattoo paper, covering the entire tattoo. Be sure to completely saturate the paper because the water is what releases the tattoo from the paper. Hold this for 30-60 seconds to ensure the whole tattoo is transferred.
Step 4 Peel the paper off to get a look at your new body art!
Step 5 This step is our little secret. Before you go show off your new tat, dab off the excess water and rub just a tiny bit of lotion on it to add a little vibrancy and extend the lifespan of your tattoo!
All done! At this point, the tattoo application is done and looking great. It will stay on for 5 – 7 days with normal wear-and-tear, and a few days if you’re out there rolling around in the mud!
Step 1 If you are looking for an at-home remedy to remove a temporary tattoo, saturate a cotton swab or soft cloth with eye makeup remover, baby oil or rubbing alcohol. Apply liberally to the tattoo surface. For best results, let soak for 1 minute.
Step 2 With the soaked cloth or cotton swab, gently massage the tattoo in a circular motion. Be patient, do not scrub. Repeat process as needed. Do not attempt to remove with soap and water!
Step 3 Still got some stragglers? We’re way ahead of you; Take a piece of house hold tape and wrap it around a few fingers (index and middle fingers work best) with the sticky side out. Use a dabbing motion to pull the little left-overs off of your skin!
This is the easiest practice for removing temporary tattoos, and by following these steps you will be able to remove the temporary tattoos from your skin quickly, easily and best of all painlessly. Now you’ve got a brand new blank canvas that is begging you to add more cool tats.
